Seven Pounds. Decent, but felt emotionally manipulative and depressively sappy for the heck of it. Enjoy some of the scenes, but in overall feels like a phony melodrama done solely for Oscar season, and little else.

The Lookout, in a way, its similar to Seven Pounds in theme in both having big accidents affected the lives of the main characters hugely, altering their lives in a depressing way. But this ones character study felt quite more real, how severely he changed, it hit it home for sure. The fact its about a bank job feels secondary, even if thats how the movie is advertised, its mainly a character study.

Watched it simply because Joseph Gordon-Levitt is becoming a more and more interesting actor for me. Maturing and promising in his own way.

i decided not to waste my time watching seven pounds thx to other members here who advised me not to. the more a preview is hyped and critics acclaim a film the less interested i become. i find that the best films are the ones that you hear about from regular ppl like your peers and friends.

Heat (1995), with Pacino and De Niro. It has a high IMDB rating, but I thought it was average.

I didn't find it suspenseful at all. There was nothing clever about any of their heists and the sub-plots were boring and pointless. Pacino overacted again as well.
Yes, but the diner scene where De Niro and Pacino are at the same table? You could feel the entire weight of the universe revolving around them both. :D

Is that like a bigger budget, anti-metric-system remake of 21 Grams? :faq1:

Honestly I expected better when I started watching the movie but it just didn't have that extra thing to make it a good movie. I didn't hate it but it was not a movie that I enjoyed either.
