meh. Highest rated movie of all time on Rotten Tomatoes but was nothing special imo. Ben fosters performance was great as always though. The young girl who plays his daughter was always good and one to look out for

Searching.

Meh. Again nothing special not sure why its rating is so high either. Didnt like the style it was filmed in despite it being unique. Poorly acted and poor writing. Was obvious they were jumping onnthe making a murderer bandwagon.

BlackKkklansman.

Another meh movie nothing special and again i cant undertand why its has such a high rating.

The standard of critically acclaimed films is getting worst and more pretencious every year.

Hmm.. I never even heard about this one. But it sounds rather interesting.

I rarely check Rotten but I've seen plenty of 100% movies over there. Still, there are plenty of those when critics give very high rating yet audience gives a whole lot lower.

I know, I was just trying to warn you :maddy:

Giallo is a type of Italian slasher.

Which horror movies have you seen? I can recommend some.
I barely watched someeee. Thanks, but no thanks. :D The time I have won't be spent watching horror movies lol. Not my thing.

You should watch Hereditary. One of the year's best films. It's not perfect, but it leaves an impact. The dread of the whole thing is almost Bergman-like.

The Lion King was my favorite film growing up. While the new version looks technically impressive, that's not a feat in itself. It seems to lack what makes every film great: A personal touch. It looks cold, artificial and lifeless.

Looks too sick and stupid imo.

I'm curious about Manbiki kazoku. I think that's gonna be good.
The trailer is too over the top. The family relationship and atmosphere of the piece is what makes it great even if some of the supernatural stuff is unnecessary. It is pretty sick though. :D

Yeah, I need to go see Shoplifters while it's still in cinemas here. Not an easy sell to your friends though lol.

I will recommend some psychological drama/terror: The Witch (2015), The Tenant, Repulsion, Viridiana, The Servant, Fedora, The Man Who Had His Hair Cut Short, Diabel, Possession, Spider, Triangle, Stoker, Magical Girl, The Spiral Staircase...(and The Killing of a Sacred Deer ).

Der Untergang - Good movie but nothing special really. I think it had like 30 minutes extra for no reason. Bruno Ganz is one hell of an actor.

Der Himmel über Berlin - I loved it. Amazing movie. A bit weaker final third but I still loved it. One of the best movies I watched this year.

Jesus of Nazareth
- It's the one from '77. Probably the best thing related to the subject so I think it's very good. It's in 4 episodes or 6.5 hours long movie. Powell did really well.

Ah-ga-ssi - It had potential to be brilliant. But in the end it was just a mediocre movie imo due to exaggeration with porn and silly scenes. Not just porn but sadomasochism. I wish that was replaced with platonic love. But this was way too much and quite silly. It felt like 50 Shades of Gray introduces into Asian movie that had a lot of style.

Hell or High Water - I actually watched this. I mean, I re-watched it. It was good, I enjoyed the acting. Overall it's far from amazing.

Leave no Trace - I loved it. Ben Foster was great but so was the girl. I enjoyed it a whole lot more than I thought I would. It was a very nice surprise. And I wish there were more movies like this one. The last similar movie I watched was Captain Fantastic and I think that was a great movie as well.

I'll make sure to watch that. :D

hereditary was really good. One of the worst trailers ever I never would of watched this as the trailer was so stupid only I heard good reports.

Very creepy and fucked up.

The director for Hereditary has so much potential and I think the women who played the main lead is amazing one of the best performances I've seen by any women in years.
Yes, she was fantastic, and it isn't easy to interpret a histrionic character without falling into overacting.

Have you seen the short films of this director? They are very interesting. He seems to be fascinated by dysfunctional families dynamics.
