I'm watching the Godfather part II again and for the first time I'm noticing that they actually speak really weird Italian.

Sometimes it's just proper Italian. Then it sounds like a southern dialect that's incomprehensible. I'm guessing it's supposed to be Sicilian, but it sounds a bit more like Neapolitan. Sometimes they suddenly speak with a more northern accent. Also there's this one character that really doesn't sound Italian at all and I'm pretty sure it's no dialect either, but he's just fucking it up.

Never really noticed it before, but when you do it has an almost comical effect in the scenes they are supposed to be speaking Italian / Sicilian.
:inter:

Did you like the movie itself?

Interesting premise until you see the "A Spike Lee Joint" at the end of trailer and realize it will inevitably be terrible. :p
Huh? Besides that Chirag movie mess, his movies are consistently excellent.

It will be nice to see Denzel Washington Jr in a leading role.

He can be overly self-indulgent and lost in fluff sometimes in newer movies, but he is a very very good artistic director with a fantastic catalogue. You seen Clockers, Crooklyn, mo better blues, 25th hour, Malcom X, Inside man (non-typical of his work, but good nontheless), He Got Game and his masterpiece do the right thing?
