Au hasard Balthazar - Brilliant movie.
I just checked the plot, come on, is this for real :D

This thoughtful and unique French film reveals the surprisingly deep connection between Marie (Anne Wiazemsky), a sensitive farm girl, and her cherished donkey, Balthazar. Though Marie and Balthazar are eventually separated when she gets older, the tale follows both the young woman and the donkey as they contend with the hardships of the world. Although Marie and Balthazar often encounter cruelty from the various people they meet, they also find small moments of beauty.

:lol2: Yes, it is actually. IMO Bresson has got to be one of the best directors, so hats down to him. It's surely not a movie for everyone, though. I enjoy such movies, haha.

John Wick 2 is a great action movie with one of the most badass endings. I loved it.

Amazon says it has acquired the global television rights to "The Lord of the Rings," based on the fantasy novels by J.R.R. Tolkien, with a multi-season commitment.

Set in Middle Earth, this TV series will explore new story lines preceding Tolkien's "The Fellowship of the Ring." The deal includes a potential additional spin-off series, Amazon said Monday.

Same, and I used to get to the cinema at least twice a month.

Only films I'm eager to see at the moment (missed them in the cinema) are Dunkirk and Blade Runner
Haven't seen Blade Runner, but Dunkirk is fantastic. The story and characters aren't great (like most Nolan movies), but the cinematography, directing, sound effects and music are excellent. It's a movie you want to catch on the big screen though.

Yeah pretty much everything you've said I've been told by others who've seen it, honestly annoyed with myself for not having gone when it was in the cinema

Blade Runner 2049 is quite good. The pace is slow, so no wonder it didn't do well in theaters. The visuals are something though and it's one of few films I've been thinking about days after seeing it

Dunkirk is on my watchlist

The only regret I have is to not having watched the first Blade Runner before though  I'm sure I'd have had an even better experience

Good to know, will need to re-watch as its been a while since I've seen it.

Strange that neither of these have had dvd rips released yet. It's usually around this time when the Oscar screeners get leaked if I'm not mistaken?
