This thoughtful and unique French film reveals the surprisingly deep connection between Marie (Anne Wiazemsky), a sensitive farm girl, and her cherished donkey, Balthazar. Yes, it is actually. IMO Bresson has got to be one of the best directors, so hats down to him. It's surely not a movie for everyone, though. I enjoy such movies, haha.

Which is why I hardly see any movies these days. 1-2 in theatre per year + a handful on Netflix or TV.

Same, and I used to get to the cinema at least twice a month.

Only films I'm eager to see at the moment (missed them in the cinema) are Dunkirk and Blade Runner

I think there are plenty but mostly it's foreign movies from festivals which aren't mainstream mostly due to people loving to watch stuff for kids with tons of special effects.

Haven't seen Blade Runner, but Dunkirk is fantastic. The story and characters aren't great (like most Nolan movies), but the cinematography, directing, sound effects and music are excellent. It's a movie you want to catch on the big screen though.

Yeah pretty much everything you've said I've been told by others who've seen it, honestly annoyed with myself for not having gone when it was in the cinema

Blade Runner 2049 is quite good. The pace is slow, so no wonder it didn't do well in theaters. The visuals are something though and it's one of few films I've been thinking about days after seeing it

Good to know, will need to re-watch as its been a while since I've seen it.

Strange that neither of these have had dvd rips released yet. It's usually around this time when the Oscar screeners get leaked if I'm not mistaken?
