I think it is massively overrated. As much so as Boondock Saints. Both of them have somehow become cult classics, while being entirely mediocre films.

The Prestige was disappointing for me. I found it interesting to start, then it got bogged down in a rather predictable and silly plot.

The Machinist was excellent. Somehow I always forget about that film.

The Prestige was disappointing for me. I found it interesting to start, then it got bogged down in a rather predictable and silly plot.

The Machinist was excellent. Somehow I always forget about that film.

I have a weak spot for that movie and I enjoyed it as much as with The Illusionist.

You should. It's very good. It reminds me of my own Grandparents and the way in which they died.

It's interesting to see Haneke directing a film like this from a gaze/perspective so distant in the sense that it lacks empathy, while examining things so closely.
