Just saw rogue 1, slow start, but jawdropping ending..
Really enjoyed it, maybe will watch it again.

And just realize, it seems the recurring theme on starwars franchise is screw the plan, let just improvise instead 😆

Don't want to give a spoiler, but it's kinda slowish, no?
I mean no big explosion, as starter, and many conversation here and there.

Damn I re-read "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" recently, had no idea the brilliant universe would be expanded on. Anyone notable cast besides those two? Who's gonna have Roy Batty/Rutger Hauer like influence and performance this time (maybe Leto, just saw he is in it). Why isnt Ridley Scott directing? Busy with aliens I guess.

Harrison Ford allways plays Harrison Ford, and he is decent enough to pull it off so I'm not fussed. Tho its kinda sad to see cherished characters age that significantly. The movie should be very interesting extra bit just because Denis Villeneuve is directing. Like his style quite a bit, with Prisoners, Sicario and incendies (havent seen arrival yet).

I think Rogue One is pretty good. I enjoyed the action. I thought it was shot well. I think it had some of the best Star Wars moments. However, I thought the characters were dull and uninspiring (Donnie Yen's character aside). I thought the same thing about Force Awakens too though (Well, I didn't like Rey) and most people disagree.

How do they explain deckard ageing?
Has it ever been confirmed he was a replicant? I think they're nothing but rumours.

People said they found the original script with a different ending that actually confirms that. But then officially, there's no confirmation whatsoever, and even if that was initially intended to be the case (him being a replicant), it didn't make to the final cut of the movie.

In the new movie Ridley Scott could easily just have him as a human, reason he's older, and get away with it.

Wait a sec, who wrote this new script? Was it Scott or Villeneuve?

Much later released directors cut has dream sequence that heavily signals at Deckard being replicant, and Ridley himself talked nonstop about how he intended Deckard to be replicant even if it wasnt officially and visually hinted much in original, except subtle hints while interacting with Gaff, lots of ambiguity to it.

It makes no real sense narratively speaking for Deckard to be replicant, and I prefer him to be human for sure, but Ridley Scott was deadset on him seeing as replicant (despite cutting that idea out from original release), even tho Harrison Ford insists Deckard is just human lol. Neither of them wrote the script tho, so get if they intepret it differently as odd as it is.

Neither, Hampton fancher who wrote first one, plus new co-writer called Michael Green.

Yeah, but that's what I meant. He can pass as a human without really leaving a plot hole in the story since it was never "confirmed" :klin: And that will be probably be the case.

Hmm... Hope the script is good. You don't mess with the classics unless it's fucking good. And especially if it's one of my favs.

Tho you gotta admit, its kinda funny for director to release a directors cut that heavily suggests he is replicant at the end, and director says he is, only then to fall back on original release version for the sequel.

This be Ridley scott:

change added in directors cut:

But IMO Ridley Scott just talking out of his ass lol (possibly for PR sake) The script writer only intended to make it an open question just to elevate the sense of human like quality of the replicants. Just like in the book where he is 100 procent human, movie makes no sens, experiencing the awaking self-discovery and in part learning humanity from Rachael the replicant, if Deckard himself is a replicant.

Very corious to see how Villenue with approach this subject.

I'm talking about as in an insignificant role where he dies.

But it's his charm. It's not all about acting but his natural self which gives him the edge. There's absolutely nobody capable of replacing him as Indiana Jones or Han Solo. Well, you can, but movie would suck a lot. Ford is capable of making a shit movie very enjoyable. I remember hearing how Chris Pratt might be the one replacing him which I just find sad.

Same would go for Anthony Hopkins or Samuel L. Jackson. Most of the time they don't act and their roles are quite similar (especially Jackson), but you can hardly replace them cause they do their job perfectly.
