The Wolf of Wall Street: Holy-fucking-shit. This movie totally puts a mark on 2013 which was a total crap year for movies. I thought it was The Hobbit who holds the first place without contenders but I was wrong. It lasts for three hours but that time wasn't really felt, every second of it was worth it and well made. Firstly, the main plot of the movie and economic disaster that one individual created was brilliantly made and it was spread throughout the whole movie. It's sadly a (perfect) reflection of real life and its economic melt-down mainly coming from Wall Street, but in this case -- just in a minor observation. It had some funny moments, the talk with federal agents was great. Martin Scorsese did a remarkable work putting all of this together. You can literally live that life while you watch. It's without a doubt next to Goodfellas and one his best work. The movie is full of energy, stress, drama and twists. Now secondly, the acting was simply brilliant. Jonah Hill was a absolutely great and I guess there's a great career ahead of him (I haven't see him in many movies, though. But he was great in Moneyball). Now, the highlight of the whole movie and biggest impression -- Leonardo DiCaprio. He is simply, hands down, a brilliant actor (IMO one of the best for sure). In this one he was simply a perfection and absolutely stunning. There's simply no way any actor would fill that role just as perfect as him. His speeches were brilliant and it makes you want to start your own business and rule the world - it's how full of energy it was. It gets you chills, especially when they all start hitting their chest. He lived the character and had whole spirit in this character, he was perfect while happy, sad, angry, frustrated, stressful and while being drunk and on drugs, especially the latter part. Epic movie overall, a must see.
