How can you be tired of all movies? I mean there are such a big variety. If you are tired of mainstream american films, then you watch a Bergman film. If you are tired of intellectual Swedish movies, then you watch some experimental flick and so on.

I watched a Bergman once. One will do.

Don't know what to tell you, I've seen a lot of movies in my life. Nothing compared to Buck, but still. I've sorta... seen.. enough. It doesn't give me the kind of kick it once did.

But movies are awesome. There is always something new to blow you away. What's the last movie what blew you away? But I'm too crazy about movies. I probably even enjoy listening to people talk about movies than to actually watch movies.

Oh dear, tricky one. Now I have to think real hard. The last really good movie I saw was Entre les murs. But blew me away, no. Cidade de Deus mmmaybe. That was in 2007.

Try watching Scener ur ett äktenskap. That's some in-your-face realism and very different from Det sjunde inseglet.
But it's hard to give you any recommendations (not that you were asking for any) since I have a hard time figuring you out.

I really numbed myself when I was studying languages and I'd watch anything and everything just as long as it was in the right language. So much junk. That probably explains part of it.

No, books don't suck. I just overdosed a bit I think. When I was in France in June I brought back 11 books. 6 of them still unread.

I don't know what happened to music. I used to be nuts about it. I stopped playing computer games, but I get a similar amount of fun out of programming.

Doesn't sound that bad on the bookfront if you ask me. But I don't really feel like I have time to read at all, so that might be why.

Yeah, I actually feel the same way about music. I feel like I need to discover a new genre or something. I feel like I have listened to all the good music already (probably similar to your view of movies, I'd imagine).

You strike me as the person who'd love Minecraft. I haven't played it for myself, but it seems like all programmers are crazy about that shit.

Depends on what you're into. If you love movies you'll find a way to watch two a day even with a full time job. When I was reading books like crazy I'd wake up, listen to a book on my mp3 player while making & having breakfast, on the way to the tram, waiting for the tram. Then I'd switch to a book on paper on the tram. Then back to the audiobook walking to the trainstation. Read the paper book again on the train etc. Take it to the extreme and I read 129 books in 2011.

Never tried it. Programming is not literally gaming. I just mean that playing games is about being good at something. And programming is a difficult thing to master, it's much more challenging. In that sense it's a bit like a game that you want to beat. Plus it's an act of creation, which games rarely are.

Well, there are also produced a lot more music than movies.

But I'm pretty sure that's also the point of Minecraft. That it's essentially about building your own world within the game. You can even build a whole computer within the game if you want to:

It's not really my kind of game since I don't really like games without an end. I almost always play games I can complete or "win" in some way.

But those games are win/lose kind of games - or at least telling you if you are doing good or bad. I used to love Sim City too. In Minecraft there's no such thing as someone telling you if you are doing good or bad (as far as I understand). There are no limits either. It seems like the most nerdy game ever.

The fact that you can build a real life working computer within a computer is pretty mindblowing imo.

Nah, I think it's pretty much all age groups. It's as advanced as you make it. There was a guest lecturer at my university last week who talked about it. Semi unrelated to unrelated to what I'm studying, but still...

No. I was totally saturated. But I wasn't doing it to maximize learning, I was trying to maximize exposure to language (mainly Italian).

Elysium - I had high expectations since its by the same director of District 9, I left the cinema highly disappointed. Very Poor.
