At least it ain't Matt Damon. That guy has become the John Candy of the 2000s: his ass is in every friggin' movie.
Funny you should think of John Candy and not Samuel L. Jackson. I've seen like 3 movies in the last 2 weeks that unbeknownst to me had this dude in 'em even it was just for 2 or 3 scenes.

SLJ is a close second.

Anybody watch Life of Pi? Just finished watching it. Damn, this movie affected me in some weird ass spiritual way. Crazy film.
Yep. It was visually interesting, but I didn't think it was good enough to be an Oscar nominee for best picture. Other movies have told similar stories better, IMO. (Like Castaway.)

Oh this is just horrible.

Affleck as Batman?

Ben Affleck?

Daredevil, Gigli, and basically every movie he's been in that was not directed by Kevin Smith with the exeption of Jersey Girl, Ben Affleck?

Oh come on.

I can see it now

"Hey Supah-maaaaan. I got your Kryptonite, right here!!!!. It's like, wikkid big!!!!!!"

Ben Affleck is not a great actor, but he's good within his limits. He's a much better director and his performances in his own movies are good. He seems to be aware of his own limitations as an actor there. The problem with the Batman vs Superman movie is not Ben Affleck, but the fact that Zack Snyder, a director who makes one flop after the other, is supposed to direct the movie. Actually, scratch that. It's great since I hope this overload of boring superhero movies stops soon.

You people :sergio:.

Give the guy a chance ffs. He is not the same teenage girls dreamboy he was 10 years ago when Daredevil happened. I trust Nolan, Snyder and Affleck. Just waaaay too much overall talent in this trio to fail this.

Flop after flop? Really? Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen, Man of Steel. All flops :derp:.

Meanwhile...............
It was Bale who didn't want to continue as Batman.

From an artistic point of view, not financial. Dawn of the Dead, 300, Sucker Punch and Man of Steel are all somewhere between garbage and mediocre. Watchmen is the only decent film in his filmography, and even his best film is not particularly good.

Artistic point of view is probably one of the most subjective things. You think they are garbage to mediocre other people think they are good to great. It's only a matter of opinions.

Never watched Sucker Punch so I don't know about it. All of the other movies by Snyder were really good with Watchmen and Man of Steel being great. That's my opinion.

It was Bale who didn't want to continue as Batman.
Why would he want to continue as a secondary character in a totally different universe? Remember, his Batman is dead. It would throw off everything if he suddenly came back as the Dark Knight.

Anyway, I'm going to see World's End this weekend. If it is anything remotely close to Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, I'm in for a treat.

Yes, and the quality of Ben Affleck's acting, another subjective topic, was the previous topic of conversation in this thread. I pointed out that I didn't think Affleck was the problem, but Snyder's mediocrity. It's movies, it's subjective, and people are throwing out opinions in this thread. Surprise, surprise.

Batman didn't die in Nolan's Trilogy, come on. They even pointed out the fixing of autopilot. Also Batman won't be a secondary char in this movie. It will be 50/50 like every Superman/Batman mix up in their history.

Christian Bale's batman died in the movie. I didn't say that the character itself died in the movie, just Bale's interpretation of it, which is why it would make no sense to have him in the Man of Steel sequel.

People are trashing the movie/actor before any of it was even made. That's just pointless. Not only here but all over the Internet. I suggest waiting for it. I guess it's because first thing they think about when hearing about Affleck is "omg Daredevil sucked".

Oh, yeah I agree in that sense. The Bale's Batman is a finnished story. The new Batman will have a hard time for sure because of fresh comparisons.
