Saw The Return (i.e., Возвращение - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Return_(2003_film) ) - 7.5/10

Good flick. More a slice-of-life type of thing that doesn't tell a major story arc. I think the weirdest, most eerie part was the elder son in the movie, who died in real-life recreating a scene from it. (http://www.theguardian.com/world/2003/sep/05/filmfestivals.film)

Also saw Sound City (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_City_(film) ) - 7/10

Interesting story about a mix board and great musical talent abound. It ultimately became a story about the human element in music in an age of Pro Tools. But outside the last 25% of the movie dragging, it was solid.

Sucker Punch is 10 times the movie, with better visuals. Fucking noobs.
At the risk of losing that last, tiny shred of credibility I may still have left: I agree.

Sucker Punch was wrong, loud, cartoonish, silly & fun.
300 was just wrong. (And more boring than reading the Quag vs Matri debates that were going on not so long ago).

Yep, it's just a matter of opinion & personal taste. I mean, I love horror movies, others can't stand them. I hate romantic comedies, most other girls I know love them. Nobody is right or wrong.
Nah, you just haven't met me yet.

I'm not gonna lie to you Voller, I wanna put an axe through that dolphin's head every time I see it.
That's a dolphin?

But it looks nothing like Flipper!

And here I was hoping they'd be able to recapture some of what made the first movie so enjoyable.
Oh well, at least it's not the 12th Marvel film to open this week.

Elysium- Pretty cool sci-fi. I liked it and didn't feel that I wasted my $8.50. If I have to rank against similar recent releases, not as good as D9 or Pacific Rim, but way better than Oblivion. Not terribly long either (just a shade under 2 hours). The action is pretty well paced. Blomkamp gets a lot done in a short amount of time, which is refreshing when every other film seems to be drawn out to 2 hours and 30 minutes regardless of whether or not it has the content to fill that time.

I liked the story, the action is good without being distracting. The only gripe I had with the movie is Matt Damon. Don't get me wrong, I like Matty D. The character just seemed like he should have been a lot darker and Damon has such a nice guy persona. The main character's name is also Max, which sounds like Matt, acts like Matt, and looks like Matt. So basically it felt like you're watching Matt Damon doing all this stuff. Rather than the guy he's portraying. Which takes away from the film.
