Sound city, a documentary about a music studio that saw some historical acts record their stuff ( calling out @Kate here), started pretty good but i think it was way too long and could have used better editing, but music and anecdotes are worth giving this a watch.
I liked how it started, I liked the idea. But I do not like the idea of digital = BAD. They had 15 guests on the show who were all pro-analogue straight to tape mixing and only Reznor who made any case for the digitalized musical world to be used creatively, as a tool. It just turned into an analogue circle jerk pretty quickly, especially when they brought Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl and Josh Homme out to jam through the newly purchased mixer - "oh look how great it sounds". Of course it sounds great, you've got McCartney, Homme and Grohl jamming !
