I thought it was incredible, so much better than Skyfall. But that is, obviously, only my opinion :D
I liked Cloud atlas a lot , i didn't think it was perfect , but i had a nice feeling through the whole movie and when it ended i had a big smile on my face . I have yet to see some of the best movies this year , but right now it is in my top 10 movies of the year

Great movie.

The actress :tuttosport:
is the movie itself actually good, or is it just the hot bitch? :D

Seriously? I thought it was the best film I've seen all year.
Totally agree with you here, definetly my movie of 2012, great acting.

Anyone seen Les Miserables yet? The 1998 adaption was such a tragedy (despite having some of my favorite actors in it) that I'm kinda afraid to watch this one, although I absolutely love the book.

Went with some buddies to try and catch Django but it was sold out, had to settle for Texas Chainsaw 3D. I could have filmed a 90 minute silent film of me putting in a new roll of toilet paper and it would have been better.

I saw it yesterday, actually. Overall...I liked it, but it was nowhere near the greatness of the stage show. Weak singing in the incidental parts, but strong performances from Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman. Some changes to the book that are pet peeves of mine, but some subtleties from the book were included, which made me happy.

Did they concentrate more on any particular part of the story or just tried to rush through the whole of it in less then 3 hours? I haven't seen the musical.

Not nearly as good as Toilet Paper 3D. :pado:

Stage plays and comic books are a little too formulaic to produce good movies anymore, IMO.

Ah. If you love the book and are not familiar with the musical, then I don't know if you'll like it. Do you like musicals in general? Les Mis is a "sung-through" musical, meaning very little un-sung dialogue.

They rush through it, to a degree, but I find it works on stage. The main storyline is really just the relationship between Valjean and Javert, with others bringing their own stories along.

Yes. The magic of what makes it what it is just doesn't work if it has to be subdued.

Just saw it... They rushed through the whole damn thing, and god was it a shame. Les Miserables basically has enough storyline for 5 films or something like that so when you decide to rush through the whole damn story in 150 minutes without ever taking 2 minutes to reflect on the story and characters, then shallowness is unavoidable. The singing was fine and the acting was good, but when the songs are as similar as they are, then you are going to get fed up with the songs and absolutely hate the sung dialogue eventually.

Precisely, but you have to look at the movie as an adaptation of the musical, not the book.
