A bunch of people told me it was a huge let down but that wasn't gonna stop me as I'm a big fan of the other Alien movies. There are a few plot holes and some scenes that will just leave you thinking 'did they really have to put that in', but as an all round sci-fi movie it's pretty good.

With regards District 9, I have to echo the previous comments and say that it's easily one of the best science fiction movies I've seen in the last decade or so. The fact that it';s not a hollywood movie and it mirrors major political events in our own history are huge plus points imo.

Band of Brothers is amazing. Great, great mini series. Maybe the best ever. I especially like the siege of Bastogne. The first episode is a bit slow, they are in training, but it picks up in the second episode, which is D-Day, iirc.

I'm downloading Children of Men right now... Haven't seen it since 07, but one of the best movies of this century, imo.

Waaaaay better than Saving Private Ryan in terms of being true to history. Saving Private Ryan is so far out there it's unbelievable. There is just no way the US Army would let a squad of elite Army Rangers frolicking around German held territory looking for one soldier because all of his brothers died. I just don't see that happening. Only way they do something like that is if they are on a mission which could help tip the scales of the battle they are already embroiled in.

Sorry for the mini rant, but that movie gets way too much credit. It's not a terrible movie by any means, but should not be spoken about with art like Band of Brothers.

Come and See is the greatest war movie of all time, imo.
