Great film, very engaging. I'm a fan of Farhadi's. Love his way of characterization.

I really didn't expect such international success for Jodaei though, now it seems it's having a fair chance of at least being nominated for the foreign film Oscar. Would be the second time for an Iranian move after bachehaye aseman.

You seen his "About Eli"?

I'm talking about the quantity of quality movies. There are still many great classics I haven't seen.

I doubt A Separation would get an Oscar if nominated.

I have seen About Elly too. Liked it very much. Farhadi does have a way of creating awkward situations in his movies. I haven't seen any of his earlier movies. Do you recommend any?

Surely there will come a time when you have finished watching all the classical black and white films...then what? Watch mediocre black & whites?

No way. Rock-n-rolla was ok, but nowhere near Snatch. Revolver was just... "are you serious".

They both had a lot flash and but not much substance.

I disagree. It wasn't as good as Snatch - movies rarely are - but it was very good. Revolver was very interesting, I like it how you had no idea who the uber crook was, people are still discussing it.

My sister, who likes anything related to "horror" (there is NO worse genre of films), who has basically no demand of ounce of quality in her movie viewing, was facepalming non stop throughout this movie. Saw bits of it, felt ripped off, even if I was supposed to be the pirate that downloaded it lol.

Rock-N-Rolla was almost as good as Snatch. Revolver was interesting imo
There is single scenes in Snatch that is better then the ENTIRE movie of RocknRolla, so needless to say there is nothing almost about it. Revolver tried to be interesting, but it was just a massive brainfart of a movie, if he hadnt done that Madonna movie...this would be Guy Ritchies " wtf was that?"blemish on his resumé.

There's kind of a neat story behind the movie, bad as it is. It was made by a pair of special effects artists brothers and they couldn't get funding so they made the movie in their own apartment and added the f/x in later.

It's nice to see Guy Ritchie making solid films after the trash that Revolver and Rock-n-rolla were.
    Rock-n-rolla had it's moments.

Rock-n-rolla wasnt trash, though just decent, dissapointing compared to his previous work he was trying to recreate. What saved that movie from being trash is the Johhny Quid character, and the russian assassins lol. But Revolver was utterly pretentious botch job, only worth watching of that mess of a movie was Mark Strongs assassin character (should have his own movie, but then again I'm a Mark Strong fanboy lol).
Mark Strong was fuckin badass in Body of Lies

I haven't seen RocknrRolla but I did not think Revolver was as bas as some of you are describing it. It was ok even though they fucked up in the ending a bit.

I thought the second Sherlock Holmes was better than the first one, the storyline was more composed and the humour was more interesting.
