A tale of astronomy/philosphy but mainly about religious extremism. I may be biased in favour of historical movies in general, but really recommended viewing.

I agree.

The Adjustment Bureau was a bit naff, really. I did enjoy the idea of the way the doors worked, but I wasn't expecting the God element.
I also liked the idea but it was somehow lamely executed. However, I like the actress a lot so that made me enjoy the movie.

The King's Speech: Meh. Overhyped as hell.

Departures received tons of awards in Japan and abroad. (It came out in 2008.) It's a completely sentimental movie, but done in a good, and not sappy way. Though many might lament the complete lack of explosions and CGI. :D

Recommended when you're in a mellower mood. Credit to how it deals with the normally social taboo, but very real, subject of death.
