I watched Sherlock Holmes earlier today -- Another disappointment by Ritchie after RocknRolla. I thought it was just a little above an average movie. Perhaps its best watching this movie without any expectations. The only good thing about it is Robert Downey Jr.
Are you sure RDJ was the only good thing?

You got to see the sights of london, and some of them were being built, what a treat!

so i saw Avatar in 3D on saturday and walked out with a migraine. how the fuck do filmmakers expect people to sit through a 3 hours movie wearing 3D glasses???

the sad part is that from now on most big budget films will be IMAX and 3D rendered.

the story sucked, the concept sucked, the movie sucked and james cameron swallows
You too?? Man my head was pounding after that shit.

The graphics were insane but I agree with you on everything else.

I saw it last night so I couldn't say anything before that.
Fair enough, 3d is lame and not the future of film! Avatar was meant to justify 3D as being more than just pointy pointy pointy and it didnt. I have seen in it 2D aswell and i found the experience better because i didnt have a lump of plastic on my face and i didnt leave with a headache or motion sickness.

Facebook part agreed (boycotted it since launch), but hugely prefer being immersed in movies then frigging plays (though I seen plays, and like some, it justs not comparable at all). You upped the masterpiece that is Lawrence of Arabia earlier, would you prefered to see it as a play? FUCK NO :D
Facebook got it's bad name because the doors were opened to everyone and their mom. When I signed up you needed a *.edu email address which was only accessible to US college students.

Totally agree. I had to take off those damn glasses at least 4 times during the movie because it was such a pain in the ass. Totally not worth it.

It's just lame. How long does it take to sign and shake a guy's hand? 15 seconds? Hell, while he was waiting outside for the car for 2 minutes, doing nothing, he could have just signed it to shut the guy up and get him of his back.

true, but this whole thing doesnt deserve all the attention it's been given, i mean theres nothing morally or legally wrong with what he did. But i guess the media is just fulfilling its iconoclastic duties since most of us perceive celebrities as deities.

I don't know how much media attention it's got, I just read about it today and thought it was incredibly stupid by Cameron. A guy his age and decades of experience in showbiz should know better.

Just found a pretty good Avatar synopsis:

"Blue humanoids = peaceful, noble, communitarian, in touch with nature
Humans = evil, hateful, try to use blue people for their own selfish purposes

Sounds like the Smurfs. It's a damn multi-million dollar Smurf film. "

:D

Knowing - the general idea is intriguing enough (if flawed) to make a movie about so it wasn't boring to watch. The acting by most involved ranged from mediocre to awful though. The FX were a mixed bag: mostly pretty decent, but near the end it was a bit dumb. It felt like the filmmakers themselves didn't really know how to portray it.
