Hollywood is hosting it, and we're all unpatriotic bastards for liking American movies over our country's. Same can be said about Americans who like Scorsese movies because he's a freakin Italian, alright!
I don't know how they live with themselves...

Then again Ukraine doesn't even make movies, I should just boycott the whole industry, God forbid I grow fond of Clint Eastfwod's footba.. I mean movies.
What is Hollywood hosting again?

with graphical/CGI technology and animation being incorporated more and more in films and with the fact that its become somewhat of a norm in film making its bound to become a requisite here in the next 4-5 years. plus the technology is now cheaper so its available for everyone to use. thats why here almost every cinema you go to has at least 1 IMAX theater.

i don't like it but its inevitable.
.
Thats retarded, It maybe the future of animation, but it is never going to be the future of serious film making. Can you imagine watching 'Public Enemies' or 'Moon' or 'In Bruges' in 3D? Of course not, because 3D is just not the future of cinema and it will go away soon enough, it is only being forced on audiences so much because its impossible to pirate a 3D film, its hollywood once again not dealing with its problems and forcing the consumers to pay for it. It is stupid and not the future.

The only way I can see 3D becoming the future of cinema is if they find a way to bypass the silly glasses & if they find a way so that people at home can also enjoy the experience on tv (dvd, bluray or whatever).

Sherlock Holmes

I enjoyed RDJ's comedic timing. Nothing else worth mentioning really.

Not even the london landmarks tour?

That was the best bit - you got to see the houses of parliament, buckingham palace, the strand, pall mall, Tower Bridge (being built...what a treat) and of course every outside scene couldn't be without St Pauls Cathedral :shifty:

the same was said about how the average person would never use the internet to its full potential and mobile phones. but look at us now.

i'm not saying you have to accept it, i'm just letting you know what to expect.

They've been promising us 3-D movies since the 1950s. Most of them were absolute crap. A few are becoming useful today, but that's only because of animation than any filming technique.

Hell, when the Web was rising back in 1997-98, everyone was saying how we'd all be navigating VRML Web stores to shop in 3-D. My ass.

3-D will always have a marginalized niche, but it will remain just that.

Dude serious film makers will not use 3D beyond sci fi/cheap horror/animation/kids films. It cannot be the future of film, its a gimmic and that is where it ends.

The internet and Mobile communications are a completely different thing that have become integral to nearly every aspect of humanity. If we lost the internet, planes would fall out of the sky. If we lost 3D there would be less headaches, less motion sickness, less looking like a douche, more piracy, cheaper cinema tickets, money going to better directors to make better films. The list goes on and i have yet to find a negative we would have to loosing 3D.

certain movies work with 3d certain dont, i expect it to be the same in the future.

eg, avatar works perfectly but i wouldnt go watch something like i dont no a comedy in 3d would be pointless.

it will stay the same in the future.

on another note i heard avatar is like 250gb in size for the 3d version, crazy.

where the wild things are- great movie.

Well, Sony is planning to launch 3D capable bravia tv, blue ray discs and PS3 this year. And the technology is becoming cheap, the only cost will be those glasses.
