What a wanker, so he'd rather watch a movie where nobody gets anything because it is not explained, no action in it whatsoever, and a boring plot that is strictly confined to real life only?
:claire:
I think you missed the point he was making. I wouldnt be calling one the greatest film experts in fair britain a wanker, he knows what hes talking about, he has a doctorate in film.

I took his opinion into account and rejected it, just because he is an expert it doesn't mean I have to hang on his every word. Films are films for a reason.
And pretty low of you to call people in the north dumb, just take a look at where some of Britains most infliental and acedemic people came from.

I'm fine with that, I actually take pride in being able to stand by my opinions justly, it's a good trait to have in a balanced quantity.
So no problem. :)
I thought i was calling you stubborn explicitly in that, my girlfriend read it and asked why i calling everything from the north stupid....didnt realise that it could have been read that way, sorry for the misunderstanding.

I was thinking about this, a few days ago actually. The reason that people use 'god' or 'jesus' as words of exacerbation is because they are deemed sacriligious and therefor the most extreme you can go to to define a point before you hit swearing. Therefor i dont think that by saying it you admit that there is a god, you just recognise that some people believe in a god and they will recognise the significance of what you have said.

The way I see it, if you're not into religion then those words, in common use and therefore well known to everyone, have no particular purpose, they are vacant. So you can abuse them at will..
