No, it hasn't come out here and I haven't seen it on torrent. But I will it's probably the movie I want to see most this year.
I will drop you a decent quality torrent, dunno if you wanna watch that quality tho. It came out one day ago or so.

I wanna check it out too. That and American Sniper as well. Then I'll see which road to follow.

Watch The Tree of Life first imo. :p
I guess it's too late now.

He's not gonna like it.
I don't think so either. :D
I liked it. It's not what I call a masterpiece truth be told, but I did enjoy the simplistic dialogues and expressions. I also enjoyed how much importance was given to nature during the film and the camera angles used. It's not just a scene with a ship sailing. You'll get the camera shooting close to the sea so you'll hear the water splashing with the ship as it's sailing. Stuff like that make the movie more enjoyable IMO.

I think they were saying that you wouldn't like The Tree of Life. It's a much better film than The New World. But probably easier to hate for a lot of people.

Get in the mafia thread now. We need your analysis. :p

Watched Birdman and American Sniper.

Really enjoyed American Sniper but without giving away anything to much was a bit let down by the ending
as i have always wanted to know more about Chris's murder and the movie didnt get into it at all really.

Although i enjoyed Birdman i was let down i expected it to be alot better. I felt the 'superhero and special effect action movies of today being so much more popular and successful than true great pieces of work' idea was too forced and made too obvious it could of been better if it was more subtle . The acting and directing was great and what made this a good movie. It falls short of being great though.

I don't share your opinion. :D

And really the kind of analysis that guy did... Well, let's just say you could do it to every movie and 8 times out of 10 they'd come out as having flat out stupid, unrealistic and "failed" scenes. It's only a movie.
I thought you might :D

no doubt one can always find fault(s) with just about any movie but a great movie usually makes that process much more challenging. The problem with Prometheus is that those shortcoming are just too obvious, evident, prominent and hit you in the face like when you know what hits the fan :p. These are traits typical of pop-corn flicks you'd expect Sly Stallone, and not Noomi Rapace, to be the one chasing those aliens :D

Personally, I think another director - Nolan maybe - would have pulled it off. The movie was kind of destined to fail with Ridely Scott at the helm the moment they attempted to inject some complexity in the plot outside of the "usual" Alien-franchise scenes and sequences. In the end, it was all just a chaotic mix of ideas, just about all of them good but none really seemed to be going anywhere. As for the execution, it was downright comical at times.

those questions are so laughably weak @acmilan, seriously? how about this: if these scientists are so advanced why arent they immortal super beings who already know everything??
Weak? So, why didn't you tackle them then? :D

And what kind of questions is that? The knock here isn't about how advanced they are as scientists but the lack of basic logic in the actions of the characters and thus the plot as a whole. There is just too much of that, happening way too often, to the point where it overwhelms and defines the plot as a whole.

Birdman - Before saying a word about the movie gotta say how Michael Keaton did a brilliant job with his role. It's also a pity how Edward Norton didn't show much in the second part of the movie, or towards the end, since he was great too. So we have an old man trying to identify himself with past while struggling with the world and even himself? They bought my attention even at the beginning. I liked the movie, it's pretty damn great imo. And I think in 20-30 years people are gonna look at it like an old classic. However gotta say that unique cinematography and music (usually just those solo drums) made movie jump on whole another level with it's beauty and realistic scenes. Without it there's a chance movie would be totally mediocre in my books. I had my expectations lower so it surprised me on a positive note. I'll eventually check more of Iñárritu's work as I highly doubt this is the only good thing he has.
