I think this guy always makes some pretty accurate analysis in his videos . Just watched this and I must say I find it pretty interesting , i totally agree with a lot of points , especially the still camera in fights . Some films make the moving camera work , but a lot of times it just is nauseating . I also agree with the million cuts and camera changes in a fight , generally not needed imho . When you add to that the continuity between cuts , sometimes you just hardly understand what is happening in some movie fights . It's very interesting seeing how changing the camera position affects so much a movie as seen in the car chasing scene and the punching joke scene . Also comendable how much times he tries his stunts . I don't think that jackie is the best director out there , but i think that a lot of directors could get some tips from him .

In Order of Disappearance from this year with Stellan Skarsgard was very good.

Both Reprise and Oslo, August 31st by Joachim Trier are excellent films.

I've always really quite enjoyed Jens Lien's films. The Bothersome Man is probably his best, but Jonny Vang and Sons of Norway are pretty good as well.

Roy Andersson's Living trilogy from Sweden is brilliant. I saw the last film from it this fall at TIFF A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence. The other two are You The Living and Songs From the Second Floor.

I'm really quite a fan of Scandinavian cinema too. The contemporary stuff often seems to have quite an interesting aesthetic of the darkly comic subtly touching even the more serious of works.
I checked Netflix to see if they had any of the movies you recommended (Seeing as they seem to constantly add new Foreign stuff) and only found Oslo, August 31st. But while looking more into it i found some others:

The ones everybody knows: The Millenium trilogy, Let The Right One In, The Hunt, Valhalla Rising, The Troll Hunter and so on. And also some others that are said to be good:

King of Devil's Island
Headhunters
We Are The Best
After The Wedding
Jackpot
They even have Wallander, The Series - Although Season 1 seems to be missing -

You get the idea. Didn't know they had such a nice Scandinavian catalog. Gotta love Netflix.

I've seen Headhunters and King of Devil's Island. The first is with Aksel Hennie, who is an excellent actor. Any of his stuff is worth a watch. I have not heard of the other three you mention.

Oh. A Somewhat Gentle Man is another with Skarsgard that is very good.

And while we're on this Scandinavian kick, with a Norwegian theme... Have you checked out the TV series Lilyhammer with Steven Van Zandt and Trond Fausa. Brilliant show. I think it's on Netflix too. Dark comedy about a New York Gangster in witness protection in Norway.

For anyone interested in anime films. Isao Takahata's latest The Tale of Princess Kaguya just showed up on torrent sites a few days ago. Here's a link to a dual audio version, one can choose either the Japanese audio with English subs, or the English audio. http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/11664719/The.Tale.of.The.Princes.Kaguya.2013.JAPAN.US.720p.BRRip.x264-JYK

There's a smaller version available as well. Brilliant, brilliant film.

I personally liked both 3 Idiots and Like Stars on Earth.
I can't get myself to watch Like Stars on Earth. The kid on the cover just looks so punchable.

Look at this piece of shit and tell me you don't want to knock his teeth out.

Ok, I might have a problem. :p

Seriously though, what's up with all the Indian films suddenly appearing on IMDb's top 250? Are they really making that many quality films at the moment, or are there just a bunch of Sheiks giving all their movies 10 stars?
Indian movies are so far away from reality that its impossible to take them seriously. Those are all sheikh's ratings :ghey:

Been blasting Netflix for stuff I've avoided until now.

Odd Thomas - fun but stupid and tries to be too slick. But fun, like I said.

The Frozen Ground - I usually find these killer thrillers rather boring but Cusack is a good villain. Cage is almost passable as an actor.

The Wolf Of Wall Street - I hadn't actually seen this until now, no excuses, I just don't make any deliberate attempt to watch rated movies. When it happens it happens. Hilarious stuff, gluttonous, and extremely long.

Seven Pounds - nonsensical crap with a nice romantic message. Will Smith acted like he was auditioning for a role in Star Wars Ep I-III.

I don't even like Bollywood movies. I could probably count the ones I like on my fingers. You guys be trippin if you think I'd bother voting them up on imdb. :p

Please, Sheik. We all know you have something to do with their high rating on IMDb. You might as well admit it already. I'm happy to see that you can count with your fingers though.
