As someone who regularly goes to parties, raves, house parties and illegals, project X is a pretty cool. While it is very exaggerated, the ideas aren't too far off! i.e. going to a house, getting wasted, doing drugs, loud music and having a wild time

Why watch people party? The whole movie about some retards trying to be cool.

There are no redeeming qualities to the movie apart from the bit where that chick gets her tits out but that doesn't make up for 1/100th of the movie.

The entire idea of "unpopular dude tries to do something about it and decides to hold a huge party for everyone, after the party he is popular" is fucked up. That's like fat girl being unpopular > eating disorder > gets skinny and the movie end with everyone liking her. (hyperbolic, but you get my idea)

Latest stuff I watched:

Cat Run: one giant piece of meh. Can't call it terrible, and yes there are 2 or 3 nice ideas, but it's so utterly boring. Some questionable casting as well, I thought.

50/50: Quite good. Expected it to be funnier, but I liked how "real" it felt.

The Kids Are All Right: Excellent. Surprisingly funny, touching, great performances. One to watch again, in due time.
