Some of the last movies I watched:

Sleepers - It must have been 5 or 6 years since I saw this one. Still like it a lot.

Secret Window - Mediocre. I usually enjoy Stephen King adaptations but this one isn't that great. Depp is always watchable & so is Turturro under normal circumstances, but in this one he goes way over the top, and not in a good way.

I Want Candy - Crap. A comedy starring Carmen Electra. What was I thinking?

The Age Of Stupid - Thought it was fitting to watch this (in part fictional) documentary now, with the Copenhagen summit happening as we speak. Interesting & intriguing, but the entire global warming hype is getting on my nerves a bit. As is always the case with these type of "movies", they are very onesided & even a bit hypocritical: this one guy is fighting to build windmill parks all over Britain, because he wants clean power & because he wants to fight global warming. How nice of him. Too bad he drives a gas guzzling BMW while fighting for the cause.

Redbelt - I usually like David Mamet's work, but this one was not good at all. Quite boring & ludicrous, especially near the end.

Redbelt is nice for Ewitel Ejifor, that dude can act, real nice following his work.

And IZ, so did you laugh because you are a morbid fuck or because it was unintentionally funny in a bad way?

Ok cool (so am I), because I like Gerard Butler, and I wouldnt want a movie of his to be unbearable or such. The trailer makes the movie look awesome, I'll settle with decent entertainment.

Armored: Normally in action movies....There should be a "wow" moment. This movie was filled with "yawn" moments. Not what I had expected

Watched The Damned United recently - Pretty interesting & entertaining movie & probably one of the better football movies out there. But, to be honest, I expected it to be better. That Brian Clough did look like a colourful character back in the day.

Was Micheal Sheen good as Clough?
I know very little, if anything, about the real Clough, so it's impossible for me to say whether or not he did the guy justice.

I did like Sheen's performance though. He pretty much sucks you in from the very start and steals almost every scene he's in.
Also, the "battle" between Clough & Don Revie, which I gather was something big at the time, is very well done. I truly believed in it at least.

It looks like a spectacle worth seeing, hehe, I'll go see it.

That trailers suffers from the same of most trailers, showing waaaaay too much of the actual movie.

And I've seen The Last Samurai. That plot's been recycled more times than the hero's journey.

Yeah, its nice, mainly for showing gritty Mongol living and warfare. Because when it comes to actually being about Ghenghis, its like 90% wrong, seriously not seen a movie be THAT inaccurate about a such a historic figure in a while. But I appriciate the effort cinematically and bothering to do a subject barely done (except by John Fucking Wayne 5 decades ago).

Oh okay, cause I figured they probably did a fairly good historical job. Guess not.

So that monastery that survived (end credits) doesn't exist? :frown2: :D

The movie was a good movie in a historical setting, but not actually historically real.

I wouldnt noticed and just enjoyed it if I wasnt so interested in Ghenghis, but the Ruski's despite the kickass visual and gritty depiction, pretty much threw historical accuracy out ze window.
