I'm having a Bourne movies marathon. Watched The Identity last night, tonight will see The Supremacy.

Also, I'm staying the fuck away from cinemas these days :D

A marathon would be if you watched all of them in a row. You don't take breaks in a fucking marathon.

    You're right actually. It's a triathlon then.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

They say Daniel Day-Lewis is to replace Ledger as The Joker for The Dark Knight sequel. I got 3 words for them - Philip Seymour Hoffman.

While we're talking about triple-named actors who would be perfect to play the Joker:
    Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

I was under the impression that the joker wouldnt feature and the whole of the last film was building up to the ridler.

Various villains have been rumoured, but I don't think any decision has been announced. Regardless, it's considered unlikely that The Joker will be recast.

You guys don't know those asshole marketers? They might wanna recast The Joker just to sell tickets, so people go like "hmm let's see how the new Joker does".

I think Christopher Nolan has more respect that to do that! I cant remember the lines but the joker said various things that people have said "you know what, thats definatley the ridler", alongside that he says things like "do i look like a man with a plan?" etc. which is meant to suggest something else is going on and the joker is a henchman.

As Jasper says, Nolan has the artistic integrity and the clout to refuse to bow to that kind of thing.

It's an interesting interpretation, though I wouldn't draw the same conclusion. That said, of all the suggestions I've heard, The Riddler seems like one of the better prospects for a Nolan makeover.

In that case, respect to Nolan if he keeps it up then, that's all I'll say. Fight the marketers!

Tideland - pretty poor. Sure, there are some colourful characters & beautiful images but they never amount to anything more than a rather boring movie. Gilliam should be able to a lot better than this.

Funny Games U.S. - There really is no point in watching this if you have seen the (superior) original Austrian movie. Don't get me wrong, it's perfectly well made & actors like Tim Roth, Naomi Watts & Micheal Pitt are capable of delivering the goods. But what is the point of a remake if you're not going to try to improve the original, or add some substance? At least they didn't dumb it down too much for mass audiences, so I guess that does count for something.
