yeah but that was when you were leaving after your 27 second climax, still she said at least you got it out of your pants this time, not bad going since it was only your 15th attempt

Penelope - Meh. This is supposed to be some cute fairytale I guess and there are a few of those moments, but overall it's mediocre at best. Witherspoon does light up the screen in the few scenes she's in though.

    Public Enemies

Good film, great acting, awesome score. You know it's good when you actually sympathize with a character. I felt sorry for Dillinger and hated the bitch who rated him out.

Did the digital photography annoy you?

It did, very much. I don't like it, looks like a documentary or some shit, the so called movie magic is lost with it. Not a big fan of hand-held cameras in general, this was not a film to do it.

But besides that, loved everything else about it.

The Fountain - Maybe it's me but I thought this was nothing more than some pretentious, artsy-fartsy mumbo jumbo.

I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry - Maybe it's me but I think it's quite funny. Not great, but very watchable.

Wild Hogs - About as enjoyable as the Juve-Viola game: not all bad throughout, but it doesn't exactly make you happy either. Didn't like most of what I saw.

Public Enemies was hugely disappointing, especially when you look at the actors involved.

watched- The Devils BAckbone- very very well shot film, eerily spooky to start with but the creepiness soon faded into another film about a kid taking a chance and being brave, while one mans evil leads to a confrontation against teh backdrop of the spanish civil.........very similar to Pans Labyrinth but no less a triumph

I watched it with a few friends recently, Bozi. One of them had seen both Pans Labyrinth and The Orphanage by the same director, and felt that he was becoming rather repetitive in his material. I felt that he had once again made his story suffer by putting a comic book villain in among otherwise rounded characters - the Fascist captain in Pan's Labyrinth was similar.

I saw The Godfather on the big screen for the first time last night. Magnifique.

The Orphanage was not directed by Del Toro iirc, he was a producer on that one. Other than that you do have a point, Devil's Backbone & Pan's Labyrinth are indeed somewhat similar.

I just checked, and you're correct. Of course, that raises the question of how much influence he had in it, but that's never easy to determine.

to be honest both films had the same feel, same panto villain and the same underlying thread, that said if you seen either first you would enjoy it. i didn't let it spoil my enjoyment of the film but as you said,it did feel a touch familiar
