Saw Ex Machina last night. It was pretty good, I liked it. Acting was pretty damn solid and atmosphere of the movie really reminded me of Moon. I really liked the ending, though. I'd probably give it 8/10 overall.

It does. But I fear for the substance. How will they build in Shakesman's unique language?
I hope they don't retain the dialogue in old english . I remember watching the trailer of Coriolanus and getting hyped up only to give up after 10 minutes of watching it . Didn't understand 3/4 of what they said . Shame seeing as it got rave reviews .

Very good point. Now I don't even know what to hope for. I just hope they kinda preserve the atmosphere of the tragedy. Gonna be so awesome it if works out :tuttosport: Teaser trailers look very nice so far

Here's the answer:
Aided by intensely committed performances from a uniformly brilliant cast all fielding Scottish accents, Kurzel's genius is to be able to find clean lines of dramatic connection and motivation within the existing text and then to interpret those imaginatively, without becoming simplistic and without compromise. And so anyone hoping for a kind of Cliff's Notes "Macbeth" (starring Magneto!) will be disappointed: Kurzel adds, he does not subtract -- he layers rather than streamlines. The final film is, if anything, the heaviest, doomiest and darkest version of "Macbeth" we've yet seen. And also the best.

Watched Ex Machina last night. Definitely the best film I've seen so far this year. (Truth be told I've seen about 4 and 2 were FF and Ultron:D) But I liked it, I liked it a lot.

Seems to be a lot of really solid low budget Sci Fi these days with Predestination, The Signal, and Ex Machina leading the way.

I wouldn't call Macbeth a horror story. :D

It's gonna be interesting to see what movie wins the Palme d'Or tonight. Most likely The Assassin, Carol, Son of Saul, Youth or The Lobster.
