Eminem is a joke. His songs are aimed at young teen boys and no more. All the 50cents, gunit threesome (or should i say foursome with Tony Yayou :dontcare: ), ludas, nellys, ja rules, etc are crap commercial rap aimed for radio airplay. You know the rest.
no comment necessary :D:cool:

sorry mate, but your post dont make sense
Let me put it this way: my three most underrated artists are going to be three I'll never hear of nor discover (and I discover quite a lot of crap). But if I had heard of them, then by that very fact they would no longer be among my most underrated anymore. Because no matter how many artists I dig up, there are always going to be great bands I've never heard of no matter what.

I know, I know. I'm thinking too much about this.

how can music groups/artists etc be over or underrated?
in soccer its possible because players/teams compete directly. music quality is all down to personal taste...

if theyre in the news all the time, if they become famous and sell millions, if critics kiss their asses a lot, BUT their music is crap, they are overrated.

that's an opinion.

It's harder to compare musicians. Unlike football, competitions are not won mostly by the fans' "personal taste."

true dat majed. so if you think a band's music is crap but theyre all over the place you put them in the over-rated list.

thats why each list is DIFFERENT, according to opinion.

shocking, i know. but true.

Will Smith is overrated. I mean cmon there's no way with his talent he deserves that kind of fame, it's the combo of movie star/musician that sells, back when he started he was popular but he didn't have this kind of audience.

Not that it bothers me but...

You're still on that misconception, aren't you? Had you said I have no knowledge history or politics or even classical music (all of which are true!!), you would have one over me. But why would I care about rap? I'm not a fanatic who will study the history and culture and whatnot, I just like some of the songs. [/QUOTE

I don't care about Will Smith as a music guy, but I like him as an actor.
For acting, he does deserve that kind of fame, I think.

You can easily see if music is good or not. Like greendays news stuff. Everybody loves it, but its absolute cheap crap. Compare it to their older stuff..

Full agree.

and under-rated:
Nearly all punk-music, such as Dead Kennedys
Dead Kennedys are under-rated. But about all punk music, there are LOADS of talentless people in the scene. Oh trust me.

Then start using some bloody smilies will ya :groan::D
Hey there's no smilie etiquette, I use smilies when I damn well please. And had there been one I would have known cause I'd have written it. :D

Anyway, I thought that one was rather obvious but hey.. :)
