Paparesta: Punished Because I Did Not Help Juventus
The referee spoke to the prosecuting attorneys on the 7th of June and revealed how he was suspended for a whole month following a Coppa Italia final match which hindered the Bianconeri.
In the Calciopoli investigations, referee Gianluca Paparesta told the prosecuting attorneys Filippo Beatrice and Giuseppe Narducci about when he was suspended for a whole month by Bergamo, just because he did not favour Juventus in the second leg final of the Coppa Italia final which ended in a 2-2 result and helped Lazio win the trophy.
"I was convinced, and still am, that the reasons for my forced period of inactivity are due to the fact that I did not guarantee favours to Juve in that match and, on the contrary according to others, I damaged them."
Paparesta also went to explain why his father, former referee Romeo Paparesta, received mobile phones and SIM cards. According to the Italian international referee, Luciano Moggi wanted a help to have duties in the designation sector
