i brought that up a couple weeks ago...4 loses and 3 draws or something like that in the first 10 rounds. Was crazy meltdown mode then, it would have been nuclear now if that was happening.
It was actually the worst start in the history of the club. And the meltdown then was definitely nuclear. Almost all of us wanted Max sacked if he didn’t turn things around by Christmas. good times.

No one is really asking for Sarri to be sacked right now. We’re undefeated, and improving game by game. Not much of a meltdown going on from what I can see? If we fail to get out of our CL group that will probably change, same deal if we fail to win scudetto this year (and CL of course).

Until then even those who don’t like Sarri will be cheering for this team (and Sarri) to have a great season.

Not a fan of the appointment but am pretty pleased thus far (early days though), good rotation and the switch to 4-3-1-2 are surprising but welcomed, we have not been playing that well but our last game was our best thus far.

Most importantly we are getting results, which is the most important thing thus far, hopefully we can keep it up.

I will of course hope we win it all and in whatever fashion possible. 3 points every game and winning knockout tournaments is all that matters. But the fanboys told us the football would be spectacular and so far it’s hardly any different to what we’ve seen over the past few seasons.

You really think so?

I also really think so, at least thus far though.

Or do you mean to say that overall so far we’ve seemed a bit more vulnerable into allowing chances or getting countered due to our high-line compared to previous seasons? Which is an aspect i honestly believe is still a work in progress so it’s way too early to predict how solid(or even exposed) will we look in a couple of month’s time for example.

Sarris concepts are nowhere near implemented and we arent the prettiest in Europe so far, but no way you can say that our playing style is the same as last season. We're playing a looot more through the center and with more short passes, last season some even started to call us Crossventus.

Different ≠ better

Last year Juventus at this point had 8/8, more goals, less conceded, more chances created, more shots on goal etc. So hold your horses still on any conclusions.

As anyone he'll be judged solely on results. I like what I've seen from him so far and he has his first really big test on Sunday. Conte loves nothing more than coming into a new team and firing them up to win in their first year. A defeat on Sunday could be damaging, but also I'm not yet sure if merda's early form is sustainable as usual Conte teams or they'll fizzle out like in previous years.

Objectively, Sarri’s best game with us so far hasn’t been anything different to the games Allegri used to get praise for(even from his critics) when we totally outplayed or outscored some of our opponents.

Yes, we are attempting more short passes and perhaps even more forward passes but is that an improvement already or just you guys subjectively hoping that this new approach might turn into something spectacular? So far most goals have been more down to individual brilliance (just as before) rather then approach or tactics per se, however the fact we play with an extra CM/CAM was always going to impact our short passes to crosses ratio overall.

Exactly, it’s not like different = better or that Allegri’s approach was necessarily a better one but overall it’s still early, and altough style is different, thus far we are winning games in a very similar fashion to the previous seasons.

The problem is they still playing not even half what Sarri wants in term of quickness and finishing.

Lets check it out at end of December. Hopefully we get good winter mercato to improve and remove deadweight

We are playing differently from last season. It is obvious to anyone who is objective.
It really isn’t any different at all so far. We’ve actually looked more solid defensively under Allegri (no surprise) and I actually think we played awesome football from August until the horrendous defeat against Man United at home. That’s when the wheels fell off last season imo.

The team creates scoring opportunities far more fluidly and dependence on individual skill and brilliance is almost none.
Just to point out a few, it instantly comes to mind that both Higuain’s strikes against Napoli and then Leverkusen aswell as Cuadrado’s stunner vs At.Madrid were very much individual skill/brilliance IMO.

This without taking anything away from the fact that we’ve indeed been creating many opportunities for ourselves which weren’t finished properly.

...We're playing a looot more through the center...
...because of costa's injury. sarri was a 4-3-3 guy for at least the last 4 seasons, and probably will play with wingers once costa recovers.

btw i wouldn't mind playing with wingers. i can't really remember the last team to win the cl without proper wingers. chelsea maybe, with freaking ryan bertrand as a lw...? still, they played a 4-2-3-1, so the last team to win the cl that gave up the wings must be '06/07 milan.

well, tbh, one might say that Real played without wingers
