good game in overall. i think presenting him to media like a superstar might made a negative impact. now he feels more pressure.
He's mentally a beast. Pressure shouldn't be an issue.

He played his whole life for Ajax.
Ajax plays according to one system at all levels
This means that when a youth player progresses to a different team or the first team, they know what is expected of them in whatever position they play.

He played in the same system for like 10 years.

At Juve he plays in a different system. With different kind of players. At Ajax he had Frenkie de Jong. You can always pass a ball to Frenkie. Even if he's surrounded by opponents.

At Juve he has Matuidi.. Well, that alone makes it a bit harder to play like he did at Ajax.

So he just need some time to adept.
I think he had a great game (apart from his own goal).

So nothing to worry about.

Nah, it's not pressure. Him and Demiral play like very experienced players.
Was just unlucky, not much to do in that situation.

how will he function in a high line? is he quick? can he turn?
He always played with a lot of space behind him (youth and first team). Ajax plays with a very high line.
He doesn't has problem with pacey players. And he has played against Mbappe several times now.

He might look big, but he's far from slow. And his positional awareness is great. He also has a well timed tackle. So ya, he can neutralize pacey players.

BTW. He also scored on his debut at Ajax (when he was 17). So that's his trademark i guess. ;)

Yeah, he’s far from slow.
I don’t get the obsession with fast center backs in any case.

His strength is timing in the tackle no matter how many step overs Perisic tried today Mati was not gonna dive in. You can’t teach the timing he has. Him and Demiral could be one hell of a partnership!
