He should’ve reacted quicker when we clearly weren’t creating shit. At that point in the match we were tired, lethargic and uninspired. Anyone could see we need some fresh legs and new ideas but Allegri. Fucking Emery made 3 changes in a matter of minutes.

I don’t blame him for those missed chances. Our players fucked that up but he deserves some of the blame for not doing HIS part of the job.
An entire match of MDS on the left flank when Villareal had no interest in attacking, is very strange. Pellegrini is at least left-footed and is an acceptable crosser. You could go with Berna who can actually take space, as well.

my question is can we call it luck if we suck every year? this is 3rd year in row we exit in 16 round, and 5th year in a row we exit in quarter final stage or earlier. only in 1 out of last 5 CL seasons did we make it to quarter final and that was thanks to Ronaldo basically going god mode.

at what point do we admit we need a shift in mentality from italian coaches?
Gotta agree with Lion on this. I think we should move on from Italian coaches. See what’s out there and how we can rejuvenate a team that hasn’t had a proper gameplan in at least 4 years.

Berna maybe, but Pellegrini is dogshit.
I don’t think Max did much wrong today, but the game should’ve been won in the first leg like you said. So he is still somewhat to blame.

Our Villareal's subs mentally strong compared to ours? Their subs completely changed the game.

We waited until minute 77 to make our first sub. It really wouldnt have hurt to introduce fresh legs against a team that were defending all game either way.
Rugani brain fart changed the game anyways with Morata and vlahovic missing sitters we didn't deserve anything else.

With subs at least they brought more energy. It was pretty clear some of the starting 11 already gassed
There were only 2 viable options. Pellegrini and Dybala. De Sciglio was doing fine and didn't seem tired, and Dybala clearly wasn't fit.

You can't say bringing on Berna or Kean wouldn't weaken us regardless of being fresh legs.

To the people asking for subs did you see our bench. This team is mentally weak, will collapse at the slightest hint of adversity, whether that's on allegri or not I don't know, but as far as i am concerned he did everything he could to set us up to win we just choked like we usually do. Sorry but not putting this on max.
As if the starting lineup was any better!! Or gased out players at 65' - 70' are any better..

It is just the usual Max..
I won't really say this is all or purely on him.. but it is the main highlight of this game, failing to make subs (as always) till it is too late)
Cardiff (even with a worse bench) when Real was suffocating our team..,
Vs. Real when 3-0 up, with 3 unused subs..

and if/when he makes early subs.. it is only to defend...

I used to lose sleep after such nights.. Call a crazy juventino friend (like myself) for an hour,, discuss every single detail to cool down this frustration..
But now,,, this team/management is nowhere close to the Juve I started supporting in the early 90s.

It was clear that we didn't have the options to change the game and needed someone to come on to do that. Let's be honest there was one player on the bench capable of changing the game and that was Dybala, who clearly isn't fit.

Kean, Berna, Chiellini, Pellegrini or Miretti were not going to change the game for the better.
Actually, the only times our defense is decent is when Chiellini plays.

After a few months of progress since our last defeat, I don't know how you could buy into that watching us play, so are we back to square one?
Of course this team will be mentally weak when you set em up as underdogs for whole season.

Even though you could see this coming it still feels like shit.

Vlahovic and morata were not going to score today yesterday Ajax paid heavy price and today we are doing so.

We keep getting embarrassed in Europe with Allegri at the helm but some people continue to defend him. Do you realise that the majority of our most humiliating loses were while he was our coach?
I really do not want to imagine what next season will bring. More humiliation most likely.

Just as I was warming up to him, his suicidal pragmatism slowly working in serie a.

Then this.

Not all down to him, but man he walked into Emery and his trap. Even Keown called it.

His coaching consist of give it Cuads, prey someone blags a break, maybe a set piece.

We can’t break down a low block.

Whilst the Allegro throaters will simply blame the players, which has an element of truth, simple eye test of the season so far is Allegros teams are horrible to watch.

Ill take him in the league if he keeps getting the results. But his style doesn’t garner sympathy when we get out done at our own game. Emery showed him up royally.
