They have a good GK, good FBs which is important for Max (even if you don't rate Bellerin he can still be cashed in for decent money and sign a replacement), Torreira is great, Aubameyang and Lacazette very good. This kid Saliba seems promising too.

They spent 150m last summer w/o CL football and a very disappointing end to the season. If Max comes in the next 7-10 days and manages to qualify for CL next season I don't see why they can't spend 250m with CL football. Then they'd have beginning of something promising.

They have had tons of money for a few years but barely spend. The loser mentality in that club is like no other. I would always bet against them no matter who they sign

Maybe under Wenger, but they've been in real bad shape for a couple years. I remember they wouldn't let Ramsey go in January because they had no money to loan Denis Suarez to replace him.

Sky says he is in frame to take the job. I believe they would benefit more from a Conte type coach who would drill patterns of movements into them so they dont have to think for themselves and who would scream the loser mentality out of their brains and give them some grinta.

But at the same time players like Ozil and Auba will thrive in the freedom Allegri gives especially if he fixes their defensive organization. Also Allegri is a much higher level of tactician than Unai or Wenger. They should comfortably finish 3rd or 4th with this squad. If they challenge City and Pool then that would be truly impressive work.

You can't take anything ADL says at face value. He could've just mean they've been talking in some way with Allegri since 2013.

By all accounts Allegri would only take United mid-season and in summer he could have RM and PSG. Napoli and Milan aren't going anywhere.
