Who was this directed to exactly I wonder?
based on his post match interview and some of the sideline clips it's either chiesa or kulu or both

one thing is sure, he was annoyed by chiesa failing to track back with kalulu before the end (when tek saved kalulu's shot). we could have lost the match there.

I thought Chiesa was the one who was pressuring him tho, and the reason he shot wide.

kalulu wasn't really pressed by anyone, he managed to shoot from a pretty dangerous position. chiesa tried to slide into the shot but he was late.

(the guy didn't shoot wide, tek managed to touch the ball and it went above the crossbar)

watch from 2:27

even if no contact is made the fact that someone is hustling behind can help to distract the shooter. So Chiesa did help IMHO.

He was basically jogging till he realised that Kalulu had got into a dangerous position and basically if he had played the whole match then you can understand but he had just just played 10 minutes

In the second half we needed somebody like Arthur who can hold the ball....Pjanic would've done that job well yesterday too.

We can't afford both Rabiot and Bentancur on the pitch together, Mckennie should be given Bentancur's spot.

Why? He looked garbage, even worse than Bentancur. And he won't help holding the ball either. Not any better than Rabiot and Bentancur.

i mean watch the vid pls. at 2:27 chiesa starts to run back with kalulu pretty comfortably. they are like a couple of meters apart, but at the same level on the pitch around the halfway line. chiesa is running back with the guy, but as juve123 mentioned, he was too comfortable. he's easily the faster player of the two. if you pause the vid at 2:30 you can see chiesa in a much worse position than he was 3 seconds before. he should have been close to kalulu, but he's caught in nowhere land between the ball guy and kalulu:

both the speed and the direction of chiesa's run was a meh effort. with a better run he could have easily intercepted the ball and prevented kalulu to even touch it. the sliding tackle attempt happened too late.

chiesa is a great player, one of the 4 guys of the current squad i'd actually mind losing because odds are the replacement would be much worse, but this was a poor effort. i'd be pissed if the coach wasn't pissed.

i remember one episode from conte's first season. we were leading very, very comfortably (3-0 or 4-0 iirc) vs novara, we started a counter, and barza ran like crazy towards the novara goal. he was one of the very few players who haven't scored during that season before that match, so his motivation was understandable: he wanted to score. but conte started to shout at him like a madman saying "barza i don't want to concede". that's the mentality we're missing.

Completely agree with this.

Chiesa is a gem of a player, but he had an absolutely terrible outing on Sunday, even apart from this specific instance. There's no reason why that shouldn't be mentioned.

:agree: I'd like to think it's because he's just coming off an injury and will be back to full form soon.

Ok, now as a critic of Allegri, this is actually very positive!
He finally speaks up and gets player to work their asses of.

I hope we start seeing some results from this
