No, the ball was going out from Real Madrid player and Caceres has used his torso to protect the ball from Gareth, but Bale is Bale and he outsmarted Caceres in that episode
Yup, he made a mistake. He was closer to the ball and should have cleared it. @Alex444 Can you please post video of that situation?

A very topsy turvy match. He fucked up for both of their goals, and made some stupid defensive errors throughout the game...but then puts in an absolute peach of a cross for our equaliser. Mixed bag of a game.

I knew when Real started pressing something like that would happen. Sure enough, we played Caceres into such a tight spot with no options anywhere and he f'd up. So much emphasis on possession in our own half when we have a light tower playing up front. Ball should have been hit up straight away instead of played into Caceres with nowhere to go.

But still he should have turned and pumped it up the line. Ruined a great game otherwise.
Pirlo was running towards him and offered a way out for him, but he chose the stupid backpass option with fucking Bale and Ronaldo basically all alone.

A player as limited as him should be nowhere near our team. Get him out of here asap. He's just way too technically poor for this level of football. Beautiful cross though.

he doesn't get enough playing time which imo has a negative contribution on his sharpness and decision making. but he's a great player and would be a starter for most teams. shut ronaldo down so many times.

I think you are being harsh. His mistake was definitely unforgivable, but he was a warrior. A lot of heart and grinta. You could make a case for Asamoah, Pirlo, or even Tevez being worse than him on the night.
