For future games, the BG should be automatically protected unless he chooses to put it on someone else. Clearly, the BG is always wanting to be protected when he's not using it for someone else. He shouldn't have to tell the narrator this each day. Only days where he decides to protect someone else.

That sounds like a good idea. Though maybe put a disclaimer if the BG doesn't participate and vote that day that their self-protection won't work. They shouldn't be protected if they're completely inactive that day.

It ruins the game when people join who clearly don't have time to play. I mean, stopping by for a few minutes, posting a half-dozen times, and casting a vote. It's not hard.

This game is directly through my work day. And I don't work on a computer. I'm in a shop building timberframe homes, posting on my phone as often as I can, while still being productive at work. It's not that hard to just give a few minutes.

Maybe going back to the one day inactive rule for autolynching would be good then. I thought it would be helpful giving a lifeline to people who might run into an emergency but still really want to play, but at the same time it's still annoying to the rest of the players.

Like I honestly don't know if I'd be a good player at this, because my job would make it hard to be active 3-4 days a week (I can only get on my phone on my breaks, not enough time to thoroughly read and analyze everything). At least as narrator it's a pretty passive role other than popping up once in a while to post updates.

I don't think there's any problem with not being super inactive for most of the day if you're busy. 5 posts and a vote isn't too big a deal. It doesn't take long at all.
