Giach before Marrone? Are you serious? :sergio:

Isla was brought for other duties, NOT TO BE A CM. Giacherinni is a utility player, nothing more. Padoin I think will leave with Pazienza. Have 3 formations with constantly employing 3 CMs and working so hard that Conte asks, rotation will be key to keeping our players fresh and firing on all cylinders.

We all noticed how sluggish our mids looks after 2 game games with the Coppa, they just weren't sharp and knowing how ineffictive Giach is at times, I really don't think he will be ahead of Marrone.

Exactly, you can claim any of them might be better for one place or another but Pirlo is more unique.

Isla to dominate RWB any time it can be used I think. No use for him in midfield without emergency.
Its not just what I think, I'm calling the situation as it is. One midfielder misses, Asamoah steps in, when two miss Isla will also step in. That's how I see their signings; Conte has identified our midfield trio as the best asset and our new aqcuisitions are to guarentee the quality of the midfield, even when one is missing.

About Giaccherini, he has done well the past seasons. Though sometimes hit and miss, overall he did well in Marchisio's place. Mostly because he offers something different in that role, something which I reckon Conte will rely on again. Marrone might be more talented, but yes Giacherinni over Marrone. Also in Conte's eyes, see the past season. Only chance for Marrone is in Pirlo's role, but I expect Conte to rather try a Márchisio, Asamoah/Isla, Vidal midfield(in whatever composition) in Pirlo's absence. Meaning Marrone becomes redundant. Same might well prove to be the case for Giaccherinni, but he has the saving grace of being one of the few wingers and could also deputise for the left wingback role if need be.

Isla will have to compete with Lichtsteiner for the RWB spot. The latter will win, my guess. At least for the first part of the season.
Especially with Lichtsteiner's advantage of being fit in pre-season.

What's your take on Pepe and Giovnico? the fucking midget
Pepe, Giaccherinni and Isla will duke it out as to whom will be the ideal 12th player of this team. He could still play a good role as a sub with his pace and intensity, but for that he will find a lot of competition. I see only one of the three surviving the 13/14 summer. But too much could happen between then and now, to speculate. Pepe could have a difficult season ahead of him. He was always the first one Conte would rely on to fill in blank spots. With the switch ever more to 5-3-2, his role had already diminished. But he could cover for many roles. The same is true, but we are much better covered by specialists. Unless Pepe will start adapting to the leftwingback role or Conte decides to bring back the 4-3-3 more frequently, I expect we will not see much of him.

I expect a lot of good things from Giovinco. He will win his place. And if not, it means Vucinic has stepped it up. Which we would also benefit from. Dont count out a Vucinic-Giovinco pairing at times either.

if we do land Pogba (and pay him the numbers being thrown around) it's outlandish to think that Marrone will get more playing time than he did last season.

it was more in regards to the hamster discussion here, a few people on this board are dead set on the fact that he will have loads of playing time. I can see his total match tally going from 4 to about 15 if we don't land Pogba. If Pogba arrives, Marrone is lucky to see 4.
