What do second interviews consist of? Asking the vets here. For my first one I talked to HR, the would be director and a director of a different department. I thought that would be enough.
basically the following

Step 0 (optional)
First interview at the selection agency or the consultancy firm
-> basically a conversation where they go over your resume, education, past jobs and to profile your character
-> this is where they take a broad selection of experience/degree

Step 1
First interview at the company
-> usually with HR, trying to see wether your profile/motivation/etc fits with the job they want. this is the billion questions interview. same as the optional one.
-> if a consultancy firm has allready done an interview, this one tends to get merged with the next
-> this is where they cut it down to a number of good kandidates

Step 2
Second interview at the company
-> shorter interview with your future boss and an experienced colleague, this is a technical interview
-> if a consultancy firm has done step 0 with you, you skip step 1 and also have someone from HR at the table
-> this is where they select the kandidate(s) for the job. This is the one where you study and prepare for. And offer your anus.

Step 3
third interview
-> this is when you are hired and come to sign a contract

Second for me has always been about money and an offer really. But perhaps for starting lawyers it's a bit different, there's not that much to debate about if you're beginning. Now that I've been one for three years it might be different.

Depends on field/job. But as a rule it should be alot more specific one about the tasks and day to day handling of the job. Basically skip the general pussy footing around tangible issues that may come with the job and the nice empty platitudes of the first interview (also prolly done more background checks on you, references or general more direct read of you by now). Usually the boss/director brings some other employee/management staff with them this time for second opinion and be kinda Bullshit detector. I tend to get this secondary role in view interviews we give.

This if you kinda hesitant/not sure yet on the person (and have multiple choices to choose from). If you are fairly sure and its pretty much your main candidate, it should be fairly brief one where they try to low ball you about salary talk lol. If negotiating is possible, dont give in, better off to ask for more then you expected then not. Depending on how sure you are of yourself/options you have, and how experienced you are in your job (if starting off, just take it without haggling).

Lol I'm hoping it's the second one and mainly salary talk. I thought the first one went well and I met with three people

If it went well and they already had 3 people in first interview, then its likely to be a combination of friendly deeper talk about the company and salary talk.

Mostly yeah. Tho it depends on how many candidates they have for the job (narrow it down to few favourites ). In some cases they even do 3rd ones, which seems over kill.

had this odd thing in my interview earlyer.

Was with the HR of the selection agency. The interiew in wich you have a person ask about your resume and does profiling.
Was a second person, (bit of a milf tbh), who also came in, to observe the interview from the side and didnt plan to take part in it. Followed the entire profiling, and just asked one question, about why i like to build expertise in something, and that was it. When the interviewer started about the job i was applying for, she was done and left the office and wished me good luck.

New to me. Usually every person on the table has its function (HR, technical, supervisor) and have their specific questions. This lady just observed, but then wanted to know a question. odd.
