Yes, i'm using Linux like for 6 months before that only windows. In the GUI it's not really a big difference.
This course was more about History, CLI and Network Behavior. Deep in the Matrix

I'm a windows user and only briefly used Linux back at university but I dont even remember which distirbution. Was wondering about the best way to get into Linux as a beginner

as a user? if you have a decent computer, just install the latest ubuntu/mint/elementary on a virtualbox and start using it. if you have an older laptop/pc, try to get a dual boot machine working.

You have to choose a Distro first, give it on a USB Stick and when you reboot you can try out Linux without installing the it.

Exactly, i have Ubuntu on Virtual Machine in Windows and Fedora as Dual Boot Machine.

Kali Linux is a security distribution which is designed for penetration testing and other similar topics. i personally don't run kali as main operating system.
