i can't believe gray got outgeeked on that DRM stuff by two people. that would have never happened 3-4 years ago
Yeah I know! Tell me about it. Actually I was just guessing, just knew it had to do with "Direct Rendering" guessed the "Manager" part

@iceman. Try this?

sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

Didn't work. Says, Parse error in file '/var/lib/dpkg/status' xserver -xorg is not installed.

The customer I'm talking to right now lost MS Office after a system recovery. I'm gonna recommend him OpenOffice! :)

So Martin, how much do you recommend taking a plunge into the BSD world?
Not really, BSD isn't very interesting. Not for desktop users. At best you can get a similar experience to Linux, but there are less applications and it's not really worth it.

Not in linux. You just keep a list of programs that you had installed and feed that list to the package manager which will install them one by one. As for your settings and configuration stuff that remains on your system, don't have to set up every program from scratch.

:)

Well, it's an adventure. Some people like to play around with technology, other don't. Not everyone has to like everything :)
