"bloated" eh? For the love of god tell me how to remap window resizing from Alt+MiddleButton to Alt+RightButton (as in kde). Here's the answer. You can't without hacking the source code. :lazy: Bloat may be evil but when the defaults are f up, I'll take configurability any day.

I'd rather take a bit longer to find what I need rather than not find it, know what I mean?

That may be because the guis for stuff like wireless aren't very good in the first place. I never use gui for that myself. In fact there's pretty active development in this area right now, so soon I think you'll have much nicer guis for wifi.

But the real reason you couldn't get it working is because it wasn't really there at all, not a proper implementation.
$ ifup eth1 huh?

According to Mark Shuttleworth, Feisty Fawn will largely be geared towards end-user/desktop stuff, while a lot of what was seen in Edgy was funky under-the-hood stuff. Granted, Edgy is the first and only Ubuntu I've tried so far, so I must admit I'm very much looking forward to the final release of Feisty (I've got the date marked down on my calendar :pumpkin:)
what about the proverb "if things ain't broke, don't fix it" :D

You don't remember how that movie ended, do you? :p

Hehe, I was sweating for the first couple of days too, but once I got on a roll I was unstoppable :)

Congrats, now only Martin is left to join the club. :p
The tables have turned, now I'm the one behind. :D

Bah, I'm sick of that extensions talk, it's a mere browser for crying out loud why people need to make it a swiss army knife is beyond me. :disagree:
A browser is very important, though, in fact it's increasingly important. And while I'm not one of those that have 27 extensions, I do love these:
  • AdBlock (essential)
  • English, Norwegian, Polish, Dutch dictionaries
  • Flashblock

I don't know what the status is on plugins for Opera, but they tend to work better with FF as well.

Opera has all of that, except for that dictionary thingy. It does however have a nifty option where you highlight some text, right click and select from which language and to which you want something translated, using free online translators of course. Coupled with a great e-mail client, IRC client, so-so torrent manager, it's a complete package and easy on the resources most of all. It's like the uTorrent of browsers. :D

Tsk tsk, make up your mind Vlats! :D
The things I listed are closely related to internet browsing and are essential for internet experience, but when someone installs weatherchecker, dictionary, "make me a orange juice" extensions that's just pushing it. So it's configurable, big deal, it's still a memory hog, likes to crash and is damn slow compaired to my dear Opera. :D
