Not much to it if you have wine set up properly. I just did a "wine utorrent.exe" and the installer pops up. Everything works perfectly except some menus seem distorted and stuff like that, but the most important things work like a charm.

In Windows I use the standalone version, but in Ubuntu I use the standalone, just because I don't really trust the installation version to 'set everything up correctly' (whatever that means). The only thing is that I have to add torrents manually, but I download a handful of torrents and open them all in one go anyway so meh

I always add the torrents manually, it's because I download a bunch of torrents and then download them periodically. So that's not a problem.

Then we're settled; you may aswell go for the standalone to save your precious hard disk space

btw you might want to go to the advanced options in uTorrent and reduce the GUI update frequency, because it flickers when it refreshes.

I am done, I made the switch, utorrent standalone and all. A fancy icon is set but what annoys me is in the taskbar it shows the wine icont :irritate:

I don't like it either... it didn't used to do that until the wine update about 2 weeks ago.
