I downloaded Kubuntu and burned it on a cd, but when I press "Start or Install Kubuntu", a dialog box appears saying "Error reading boot CD."

Are you sure you downloaded the right image? Maybe you have an AMD processor.

Wouldn't make a difference. Sounds like it's a bad burn, these things happen.

Arif: Try re-burning and this time use "verify data" to be sure the burn was correct.

Also, I downloaded the Kubuntu 6.10 from www.kubuntu.org

Not sure if that's the right version to use.

As for the video drivers, I went to the kubuntu channel on mirc and I was told to write xorg-driver-flgrx in the terminal.

Arif, try selecting "Check md5 sums" at the boot menu. Or maybe the option's called "Check CD for defects", I don't remember.
