So, I'm willing to give Linux a try. Already downloading it, but this is the first time I'll use a different version of OS, having used windows for 7 years. :D If you could give me some tips where I could find some programmes that are compatible with windows you'd help me a great deal. ;)

Will Kubuntu find automatically my VGA and Audio Drivers?
Maybe and yes.

Video cards from Nvidia and ATI have drivers that are not widely available because of their restrictive license. Cards from other companies have drivers included in every distribution of linux.

Audio drivers should not be a problem.

Oh, I see you've already made your way to this thread Arif :)

I use an ATi card too, but it works fine after installing some drivers and editing a couple of lines in a text file.

915 resolution is for the Intel graphic chipset. To change your resolution with an ATI card you just need to add a line to your xorg.conf (don't worry Arif, it's easy stuff :))

EDIT: screw you Martin

Actually, the part I'm most miffed about is that you posted first because I wrote more, but he still got the same information

One of Unix's oldest and most persistent design rules is that when a program has nothing interesting or surprising to say, it should shut up. Well-behaved Unix programs do their jobs unobtrusively, with a minimum of fuss and bother. Silence is golden.
But if you have to say something, be concise :D
