Yep, go here, scroll down to "Binary codec packages" and (on 99% of computers) download the Linux x86 20061022 package, unpack it into /usr/lib/win32 and you're all set

Why would you want to install from source?? Use a .deb/.rpm package...Use apt-get/yum or you can even use adept if your on Ubuntu!! Now thats easy installation...
