huh? It does no such thing here. I recall seeing a pretty long article about kde memory management, and how its integrated set of applications uses less ram than gnome and other window managers, when combined with a suite of applications.

dunno, it may not have been a kde specific article, could have been linux in general. i remember, in short, it said something like; kde/or linux uses 90%-100% of physcial memory, cause good ram is ram put to use, if physical memory is not used for applications it's used for disk cache and freed up when needed. something like that. and indeed when i run ksysguard in kubuntu my physical memory is used to 90-100%, swap very rarely used. i have 1gb of ram.

That's correct. FYI Windows Vista does this too.

That page is pretty old, I remember seeing it years ago. I imagine a bit outdated.
The new Kopete supports Jabber, in that page they don't have Kopete as a Jabber client ;)

Martin, how much memory are you allocating for Windows when playing FM. I have it set at the default (192), do you think thats enough or should i raise it up a notch?

Somewhere between 256 and 512, but you could use Windows' task manager to see exactly how much is being used. I could even give it 512, I have a gig here.

EDIT: I checked, 360.
