I had immense respect on Asamoah the CM since his Udinese days.
Despite his injuries, i never lost hope on him, but that was it, he is done as a proffesional player, this season, this very moment was his best come back chance, the chance to leave behind injuries and absences, the last and best chance to regain his top form in this level and this comes at a time we needed him them most, yet it was not to be, better cut our loses and accept a 9mil fee, if we can...

He will not return to his old self. At least not with us.

Thats because we seriously needed him and if he cant deliver now, he is of no use and will most likely be replaced for someone who can instantly strenghthen the team.

Every ball he touched goes back or to rival. Everytime he trying to run he crash against the opponent. He doesn't run into space. He's consistenly wrong positioning. Every attack he got involve dies in his feet.

R ueven watching the game?

Actually I thought he looked a little sharper yesterday than he did in his other comeback games. Still, he's probably 70% fit and who knows where he is mentally. It's going to be a long road back and he's going to look like one of the weaker players for a while.

Best case scenario he plays 20 games this year to a decent standard then gets a good pre-season in him for next year. For a muscular player with complex injuries it's all he can do.

We have way too many midfield projects. Sturaro, Lemina, Asamoah, Hernanes when all fit take up way too much space in our midfield roster. All of them could turn out decent if given enough minutes (like Hernanes is doing now), but at moment there simply aren't enough places in our lineup to give good minutes for all 4. Ideally we could get rid of 2-3 of them, sign one beast and keep 1 or 2 of these guys. Currently we are splitting one players minutes between Sturaro, Lemina and Asamoah, it's useless.
