He's very bad going forward, he pulled three assists in the beginning when no one knew what his move was. Afterwards he was being read like an open book and almost all the balls that he had while attacking were lost and caused counter attacks.
I don't think you're right about the counter attacks-part. I do remember a few incidents, though, some of which he even corrected himself by fighting to get the ball back. But almost all? I don't recall that.

However, I agree that Asa is not ideal as an LWB when it comes to going forward.

What do you think of his defensive contributions, though? Surely you must agree that we're a hell of a lot better defensively with him in the side rather than De Ceglie or Padoin?

Winger or not, we are much more stable and secure when he plays LWB. I miss him like crazy.

And despite not being all that going forward, he's not bad either.
Going forward more like wide striker than winger, I expect goals from him whenever he plays. Got a great shot, something I wished Isla would have provided instead of hopeful crosses to nobody.

I have only praise for his defensive game. He really adds balance to the side.

Exaggeration. He has been competent enough to make the pitch wider on every Juventus attack, and he can get in some dangerous crosses. Need some better penalty area representation.

He has been "very bad" twice perhaps.

So logic is: Messi is not a natural CF but excels there, therefore Asamoah the CM must play LWB? :D
No, not like that

Logic is that it doesnt matter what your natural position is, as long as your tacktical knowledge&learning rate is high enough to learn a new position for wich you got excellent technical/physical/mental characteristics

Messi, isnt a natural CF, but for his size incredibly strong and has an insane close ball controll, on top of his unmatched agility and dribbeling speed. So he can act as a central forward because its pretty hard to get him of the ball without fouling. Furthermore, he has a lethal shot, and the pace to abuse any gap in the defence.

Asamoah has great physique, and is incredibly strong in duels, has a massive standing tackle, has immense positional awareness, and is nearly impossible to get past. because of him also beeing versatile due to great tacktical sense and learning, he could be molded into a perfect defensive lwb.

Overall maybe. If you have some time to watch our previous games or when he returns just watch how much he gives the ball away cheaply.

I dont get how you pull these things out of your ass.

Asamoah is usually running, then turning back and passing it off to a cm, or tries to burst past and wins a corner.

Meh, he's disposessed about as often as Marchisio or Vidal per game & has better passing statistics than all but 2 of our starting players.

I hope you don't mind me saying this, but your dislike of him at LB seems to be clouding your judgement.

I don't mind but I can also say the same thing about you that his defensive contribution is also clouding your judgement.
