Contract renewal and the 10?
Definitely looks like there’s something more to it, i assume the renewal is a certainty by now so it does look like this preview might have to do with the No.10 rumors we’ve been reading…

Let’s wait and see though, tomorrow will be the day i guess.

For now he reminds me more of Palladino. Good technique, but pretty bad end product.
I heard Motta like players with technique but he also like those with stamina. He also likes them to keep the ball and to pass it. I also heard he likes players to run and pass vertically as well as horizontally in his 1-2-5-1-1.

All in all Yildiz is going to be huge under Motta.

Imagine if the club had listened to fans like me and invested more in our young and hyped super talents. We could have enjoyed a decade of Palladino and Lanzafame running on the wings, being served masterful through balls by Fausto Rossi.

So nothing about the no.10 so far… looks like it was more about our new home kit with the moon like patterns and they just chosen Yildiz as the protagonist to promote it lol

Unless there’s more news to come later on ofc.

Glad that ad wasnt for Yildiz getting 10, i dont feel great putting a lot of weight and pressure on yildiz. i like him a lot, he has a lot of potential but he still need to prove himself out

When i think of giving 10 to a youngster I think of del piero breakout season competing with baggio

The 10 has to go to some one..

Still reckon its going to be him if he signs the contract extension.

The only ofher potential 10 candidate i can think of is Chiesa, but he’s going to be injured from Sep to March.

This whole rhetoric that the number 10 adds to much pressure is pathetic. He is a professional footballer who had to deal with much bigger pressure just to get into the senior squad and play for Turkey as a starter at the Euros at the age of 19. This nostalgia with the number 10 is stupid. Its more of a marketing decision than anything else. Why not give the number 10 and increase his profile. Nothing to lose in my view. The whole idea of not giving it to anyone is way more stupid.

I dont think its stupid, symbolism works.

When someone thinks 10 is marketing decision instead of a symbol of leadership, charisma and skill on the field is whats wrong with todays football

Sure the marketing decision is the business aspect, but it should be an effect of a sporting decision.

And i dont know about you, i like to keep the bar high and that bar was set by delpiero, the last youngster to be given 10 and carried on to be the legend for this club

Its just a number at the end of the day. If a player can't handle the number on his back then he is not mentally strong. Having a number 10 sells more shirts. Nothing more, nothing less. Give it to him. No brainer.

Not many teams refuse to have a number 10 anyway. Only Napoli did in homage to Maradonna. Skipping a number 10 is the exception and not the norm.

Nobody said anything about not assigning the no.10 at all. The main point that most are making is that he might be better off with first having a full season as a starter under his belt with less added pressure before awarding it to him, basically to allow him to develop without overburdening him, you can’t possibly say that giving the number 10 to anyone let alone a youngster doesn’t add extra responsibility on his shoulders… it does actually bring higher expectations with it, especially at Juventus where historically it weights a lot and is the very reason why Yildiz is literally the only one even being considered for it.

I get your argument about the marketing potential(would be the only reason why they’d rush do it), also that it might even turn out as an extra motivation for Yildiz to do better, but keep in mind we are talking about a player that although has loads of potential is still very raw, to shorten it up at this stage we don’t even know for sure yet what his best position is.

It's still a brilliant name though. Fausto. Not much comes close to that. His football career sure doesn't.
