Only thing that genuinely worries me a bit is his fitness and inability to run and press efficiently, i think he is not at his best in a LM/LW role against strong opponents, it’s limiting him with defensive duties and might be better off in a more central role as a SS/CAM where he would potentially be able to influence the game more effectively from.

However all in all he is still very young and in his first year of first tier football, maybe the pressure of the event got to him too.

Also, he seems to like to cut inside a lot from the left too so maybe an advanced LW/LF role could still be an option, but definitely not as an LM type that is burdened with defensive tasks.

Our kebab was seriously outplayed by the small kebab from Real Madrid.
You never know how will these tiny players develop, so I can't say that Real's Turk will become great, but I gotta say that I have a soft spot for that kid. He can pass, shoot, cross, see things on the pitch that others don't. He can play.
Then again, Yildiz is our kebab so I hope that he will be the better of these two in the future.

the guy is surely talented and he's rightly off the market for the club. i even like him

but when you give the legendary number 10 to a guy who's yet to play a season consistently, that degrades the legacy of the jersey. just don't give it to anyone until they truly earn it
Does the club choose the jersey number and decide to give it to whom? or players themselves pick the numbers?

I saw some goalkeepers wear any shirt number other than 1 , it comes down to preference and not obligatory.

Not totally convinced that he deserves the #10

He's too slow to play outwide and unless he starts scoring more goals, he's going to have an average career imo.

Just watching him with Turkey and Guler is miles above this guy and the bigger talent in general.

He's a great dribbler, great with his feet and all of that but if you want to become an elite player, you need to be either scoring 15-20 goals per season or have similar amount of assists every year. Basically 25-30 goalscoring contributions per season.

He's still very young though and very raw so hopefully Motta can groom him into a solid player.

If not him then who else? Fact of the matter is that no other player fits that number. No point skipping the #10 for a year again either. Just give him the 10 - if he doesn't do it justice then give it to someone else the following year.

I remember back when Bernadeschi signed, there was pressure from the fans to give him the 10 (lol). Thank god we didn't.

Lets not rush hastily into giving out such a prestigious number. Learn our lesson from Pogba.

they made him the scapegoat here for euro performances. he wasn't getting much attention compared to arda, due to being born and raised in germany and playing in italy anyway.
I didnt really wantched any turkey games, how was his performance in general? He wasnt getting much attention but they made him a scapegoat?

Makes sense. It's more like marketing if we give him NO.10 and selling jersey is an absurd idea which i highly doubt he's a well known footballer in turkey. The guy has only 19 years.
