Waste of his time if you ask me. Next gen plays what, Serie C? And he’ll be playing with a bunch of jabronis.

Fine if he was 19 but at 21 he should be getting some first team playing time.
agreed on the basic point. thing is that there is always a possibility to move players between next gen and the first team. see miretti, fagioli, barrenechea, iling & co who started at the next gen and were permanently moved to the senior squad. i think kaio needs continuity above all. he missed a complete season due to that injury, so it would be nice to have him play regularly for a few months before testing him in the first team. it's like a dry loan with different caveats: normally when you loan a player you don't have any control over his playtime during his loan, now we have the control and we can have him back anytime but he'll play at a lower level of competition. considering the circumstances i think i'm fine with that.

Im not totally familiar with how the next gen vs first team works. Say he stays healthy and manages to do well for a few months you’re saying we could have him back anytime during the season?

Jorge IS a jabroni.... and coming off an incredibly serious injury

Dude shouldnt sniff minutes on the pitch with Juve unless it's late garbage time minutes in a blowout

him playing with next gen until at least January is perfectly fine.... and in January, maybe evaluate how he's doing and look for a loan in higher competition

basically yes, with one limitation iirc: if the youth player plays 5 league matches the he can't go back to the youth team. just look at enzo's last season, kaio could have a similar one too:

I think clubs should invent loan contract where minutes played in all competitions are used to determined loan fee

Under 1000 minutes, pay loan fee 5m . Every 300 mins increase lower loan fee by 1m. Put 1m fee as the minimun payment

This way clubs will force to play him to lower his fee. If not we will get better payment

i tend to forget we bought this gem 2 years ago and he's yet to score, assist or start a match. bummer for the unlucky injury, good luck for the upcoming season.

Btw our social media clowns strike again. #Kaioback doesn't work. #Pogback works because it includes his name. Kaioback isn't a pun or anything it's just dumb.

And why the laughcry emoji?

By fee you mean wages? I'm not sure you could get players to sign a minutes-played-based salary as standard. Contracts are primarily designed to give workers job security, although I guess in football it's often the players who choose to break their contracts and move somewhere else.

What I'd like to see is clauses inserted giving the club more agency when players are not available for selection. Pogba the more obvious example, we shouldn't be stuck with him for another 3 years on high wages after last season. I can't believe we didn't put something like that in there tbh
